”In all parts of the Baltic Sea Region, people are moving from the
lesser populated areas to the larger cities. One reason is that there
is no equal access to healthcare in the rural areas compared to the
urban. Baltic eHealth will make this possible by providing an exchange
of digital healthcare services across boarders and barriers, which
will contribute to equal access for all citizens – no matter where
situated,” says Henning Voss, consultant from the Danish Centre for
Health Telematics.
”By using the technological possibilities within telemedicine we
can demonstrate that it is possible to exchange expertise in
ultrasound and radiology trans-national. Our aim of this project is to
demonstrate that collaboration across boarders can be established in a
constructive way for the benefit of citizens in rural areas. Through
this project, we hope to inspire several other local hospitals, as
well as regional decision makers in the Baltic Sea Region, to
establish similar collaboration”, says Henning Voss.
